of Macfadden and others, including the photos that documented Macfadden's
famous 7-day fast. This book exemplifies the kind of enthusiasm and brashness
that made Macfadden popular and led to his conflicts with the medical establishment.
It is interesting to read the theories which helped launch the natural
food and exercise movement in America.
It covers fasting, the one-meal per day
plan, the cold-water cure, air baths, exercising and more. The final chapter
(which incidentally is not shown in the book's table of contents) lists
several Macfadden treatments for common ailments.
Vitality Supreme
By far the best and most useful of Macfadden's numerous books. This
book mainly covers exercises for developing vitality (physical well-being
and energy), but also has some good information about diet, correct breathing,
fresh air, preserving the teeth, curing constipation, blood purifucation,
bathing, clothing, sleep, etc. It covers a wide range of health subjects.
This book presents many of Macfadden's theories in a clear and readable
format. The style of writing is definitely dated, but his message is clear.
The photographs are numerous and excellent.

This is a free e-book that you can download and look at on your computer
